What/When/Where/Who?

This summer we plan to visit 3 World Heritage sites in the US with Nathan.  Along this route, we will visit the following natural wonders plus historical sites:

1. Route 66 from Las Vegas to Williams to Grand Canyon
2. Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
3. Antelope Canyon, AZ
4. Monument Valley, UT
5. Mesa Verde National Park, CO (See PBS documentary Mesa Verde Video)

Why? The trip is age appropriate and highly requested.  Fourth graders learned about Native Indians in Social Studies and rock/minerals in Science.  Naturally, they love to see anything related to what they learned.

6/14 - SFO to LAS (Las Vegas) Travel Time - 1:30

• Vegas for 1 night at Mandalay Resort ($63 + $25 Resort Fee)

6/15 Drive to Grand Canyon

• Overnight in Maswik Cabin for $94

6/16 Grand Canyon Hiking/Junior Ranger Program

• Overnight at Red Feather Lodge (Tusayan, Arizona)

6/17-8 Monument Valley
